Virat Kohli’s first comments as RCB captain

Faf is not available now, so he will switch to Vyshak and play as an impact player. We have to do what we want, we will bat first, the pitch may have been slow and some blown marks will help the bowlers get deep into the game. Take one game at a time, focus on our own game, take advantage of difficult situations, we haven’t finished so far in the tournament. There are no other changes for us.

He stepped down as RCB captain after IPL 2021 as the franchise signed Faf in a mega auction in 2022 to take charge of the unit. In his first season with RCB, Du Plessis led them to the playoffs. Fans were elated and nostalgic after seeing Kohli as captain in RCB’s  against Punjab Kings at the Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium, Mohali.
